Kathmandu, May 21: US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly held a difficult phone conversation regarding diplomatic efforts involving Iran, according to Axios.

The discussion focused on new diplomatic initiatives aimed at reaching consensus on Iran’s nuclear program and broader regional issues. Reports say Qatar, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Egypt are involved in mediation efforts.

According to sources cited in the report, Prime Minister Netanyahu was highly dissatisfied following the talks and expressed strong frustration over the direction of negotiations.

A revised draft agreement between the United States and Iran is also reportedly under discussion, including commitments related to Iran’s nuclear activities and conditions concerning frozen assets.

President Trump has indicated openness to a diplomatic solution while also warning that military options remain available if necessary. He described the current situation as being balanced between compromise and conflict.

Iran is reportedly reviewing the revised proposal but has not signaled any major shift in its position. Meanwhile, Israel has expressed concern about the negotiations and is said to be advocating for a tougher approach toward Tehran.

The report suggests there are growing differences between Trump and Netanyahu regarding Iran policy. Neither the White House nor the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has issued an official response so far.
