Korea-Nepal Peace and Friendship Program Successfully Held in Kathmandu
Kathmandu, Nepal – The “Korea-Nepal Peace and Friendship Program” was successfully held today, July 4, 2026, at the Peace Embassy in Naxal, Kathmandu, marking an occasion to strengthen ties and foster mutual understanding between the two nations.
Moderated by Arpan Manger, South Asia President of the Youth and Students for Peace (YSP), the event began with the singing of the national anthem at noon, followed by a welcome address and dynamic performances.
Key highlights of the event included: Messages of Peace and Congratulatory Remarks: Following a peace message from Peace Master Krishna Adhikari. Special congratulatory remarks were delivered by faculty members from Sun Moon University in Korea, including Dean Oh Yong-sun, Professor Jo Eun-yi (Coordinator of the 2026 Sun Moon University Overseas Youth Volunteer Corps), and Manager Heo Eun-sook.
The Program was centered on Cultural Exchange. The event drew an enthusiastic response from participants, featuring a vibrant cultural performance by the Nepal PLT team alongside dynamic demonstrations of Taekwondo, the fan dance, K-pop dance, and a choral performance of “Resham Firiri” by the Korean team.
Solidarity Program: Meaningful activities—including a gift exchange and a “sibling partnership” program—were held, allowing participants from both nations to forge lifelong bonds. Distinguished Guests: Mahesh Raj Dahal, former Nepalese Ambassador to Australia and former Chairman of Nepal Television, delivered a congratulatory address, while Santosh Paudel, UPF South Asia Chair, gave the closing remarks to conclude the official proceedings.
The exchange program wrapped up with a commemorative photo session and a networking reception accompanied by refreshments, marking a new milestone in the historic friendship between Korea and Nepal.
