Special investigation team deployed for the Nikita Tomar murder case

After the 21-year-old student, Nikita Tomar was shot down in Haryana yesterday, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime Anil Kumar visited the Tomar family on Tuesday to investigate the case.
Meanwhile, Haryana police also recovered the illegal murder weapon used by the accused Tausif, who has already confessed to the crime stating that he had committed the murder as an act of revenge. He maintained that he was retaliating due to the kidnapping case that Tomar family had filed against him in 2018. They had withdrawn the complaint after a request for negotiation.
The Police has also identified an i20 car which was used by the accused during the failed abduction.
Nikita and Tousif had known each other since they were in school. Tausif wanted Nikita to convert into a Muslim and marry him. However, he was accused of molestation earlier in September.
The incident and a 23-second viral video has triggered a huge protest against Love-Jihad in Faridabad, demanding justice for the victim. Demanding justice for her daughter, Tomar’s mother called for a police encounter. She wants the accused to be shot in the same way they had killed her daughter.
