Indian Army launches indigenous communicative application to restrain hacking possibilities
Kathmandu. With India and China stepping into the sixth month of their heated military stand-off in the region of Ladakh, the countdown has officially begun for this month’s bilateral talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, as reported by The Eurasian Times.
Regardless of the outcome, India is prepared with French Dassault Rafales already in the skies, the T-90 Bhishma and the T-72 tanks, to ensure an impenetrable defense in the region. On the communications front, however, they have resorted to a locally made application called ‘Secure Application for Internet (SAI)’ that has been designed by the Army’s Corps of Signals, responsible for handling its military communications.
The decision to come up with the indigenous product aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative of ‘Make in India’ as well as contains the possibility of hacking to obtain sensitive information, a vital trait other foreign applications could not ensure in a full-fledged manner. India currently amidst tensions with the Chinese cannot afford any breach with their sensitive information, crucial to stopping the foreign exploits.
