Monsoon active again: rainfall across the country for five more days
The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has predicted rainfall all over the country for five more days.
The westerly low pressure belt is moving to the northwest from the north east of Bay of Bengal and this shift is causing rainfall in most part of the country.
Meteorologist at Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Raju Pradhananga, said, “Although the monsoon generally ends on September 23 in Nepal, the shift of low pressure belt to the north west from Bay of Bengal is causing rainfall.”
The weather of Province nos. 1, 2 and Bagmati is cloudy and partly cloudy in other provinces. Some regions of Bagmati and Province no. 5 are experiencing light rainfall with lightning and thunderstorms and there is medium rainfall in few places of Gandaki province as informed by the MFD.
The MFD has also warned of high level of water in the rivers and alerted people on carrying activities at riverbanks with vigilance till September 27.
