Woman raped after husband sells her

On September 26, a woman from Rudraprayag was sold by her husband to a Nepali man for Rs. 10,000, who then proceeded to rape her in the presence of her husband. The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rudraprayag, Navneet Bhullar informed that the husband, a daily wage laborer had been arrested, following the woman’s complaint.

The police are currently searching for the perpetrator against whom a case of rape has been registered. According to The Times of India, the husband was booked under section 506 (criminal intimidation), section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and section 504 (breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code, whereas, the man from Nepal was booked under section 376 (rape).
