Morocco and US sign a 10-year military deal
Rabat. Morocco and United States of America signed a ten-year military agreement based on mutual cooperation. US defense minister Mark Esper signed the deal on a two-day visit to the African state. US has also signed a similar deal with Tunisia.
He also visited Algeria and met the President and the Chief of army. This was his first visit after 2006, however no details have been released on whether the US has signed a deal with Algeria. Esper met Moroccan minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita on Friday.
Morocco is a non-NATO ally of the US. Washington also happens to be Morocco’s largest arms supplier. The deal is said to strengthen the strategic relations and military co-operation between the two nations.
