Warner creates world record as Sunrisers Hyderabad beats Kings XI Punjab

Kathmandu. A 160-run partnership between Jonny Bairstow and David Warner led Sunrisers Hyderabad to a 69-run victory over Kings XI Punjab  in the 22nd game of the Indian premier League (IPL) 2020. Hyderabad scored 201 runs in 20 overs losing 6 wickets, opting to bat first In answer, Punjab could make 132 runs only.

Chasing the score of Sunrises Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab was all out for 132 runs in 16.5 overs despite a vigorous inning of 77 runs by Nicholas Pooran. Pooran hit five fours and seven sixes in 35 balls. The thrifty spells of Rashid (12 runs, 2 wkts.)  Khalil (24 runs, 2 wkts.) and T Natrajan (24 runs, 2 wkts.) limited the individual scores of other batsmen of Kings XI Punjab to less than 11. Earlier, Bairstow had made 97 runs and Warner 52 for Hyderabad, sharing 160 runs between the two.

Hitting his 46th half century, Warner has become the only batsman in the history of IPL to have scored half centuries in more than 50 matches. Indian skipper Virat Kohli follows Warner with 42 half centuries.
