Armenia and Azerbaijan were in conflict for the disputed area of Nagorno-Karabakh since the past two weeks. The two countries have now agreed on ceasefire, which will come into effect from Saturday.

The talks between the two countries went on for ten long hours in Moscow, Russia. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov mediated the talks and announced that the two countries must come to a conclusion regarding the disputed area through further discussions and talks.

Over 400 people lost their lives in the war which began on Sept. 27, when Armenian forces targeted civilian Azerbaijani settlements and military positions in the region. The increasing tension between the two countries caught the attention of the world community.

The disputed area belongs to Azerbaijan but the inhabitants are the native people of Armenia. The two countries have fought for the same issue in the years 1991-94 in which many people lost their lives.
