Storekeeper of Pashupatinath Temple arrested on cybercrime charges
Kathmandu. Kedar Nath Bhandari, storekeeper of the Pashupatinath Temple, has been taken in police custody today. The Metropolitan Police Range Kathmandu has arrested him on cybercrime charges.
Bhandari was arrested from the Guyheshwori Temple precinct and the police said investigations will follow suit.
Bhandari is accused of defaming Dr Milan Kumar Thapa, treasurer of the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT), by slandering in social media and sharing Thapa’s photo in Facebook deforming it. The police arrested him on Wednesday, acting upon the complaint filed against Bhandari.
After the news of the idols of Ashtadal and Bhairav in the sanctum sanctorum of the Guyheshwori Temple having lost two kilos due to wear over a period of 20 years was published, Bhandari had posted a video in the social media. He was seen trading against Thapa in the video.
