Sandeep takes 2 wickets as Hobart Hurricanes beat Melbourne Star
Kathmandu, Jan 2 : Sandeep Lamichhane’s Hobart Hurricanes have won the Big Bass League (BBL), Australia’s domestic competition. They won against Melbourne Star in Saturday’s game.
Melbourne lost 9 wickets in 20 overs following the Hurricanes’ target of 165 runs and managed to score just 143 runs. The 70-run half-century for Melbourne by Glenn Maxwell did not save the team from loss.
Hurricanes’ Scott Boland took 3 wickets. Sandeep, who played this season’s first game today, took 2 wickets against Star. In four overs, he took 2 wickets giving 38 runs. Nathan Ellis also took 2 wickets along with Sandeep.
Hurricanes, who had lost the toss earlier opted to bat first. In 20 overs with a loss of five wickets, theyscored 164 runs. David Malan played a solid 75-run inning and Ben McDermott scored 31 runs. 26 runs were added by Colin Ingram. Billy Stanlake of Melbourne took 3 wickets.
Since beating Melbourne, the Hurricanes have added 18 points in seven games. The Hurricanes have risen to second place. In 6 games, Melbournehave added 11 points.
