India, China return to peace after nine months of stand-off

Kathmandu. February 12. After nine months of military stand-off, both India and China on Wednesday initiated a phased disengagement of the frontline troops and tanks along the Ladakh border in the banks of Pangong Tso Lake. 

On Wednesday, the Chinese Ministry of National Defense confirmed that the decision was based on an agreement reached in the ninth round of the China-India Corps Commander Level Meeting.

India’s Defence Minister on Thursday announced that both the countries have agreed to pull back their units from the Northern and Southern banks of Pangong Lake.
