South Africa becomes third country to discard Johnson Vaccine. Here is the reason

Kathmandu, June 16. On Tuesday, the government of South Africa decided to discard at least 2 million doses of Johnson & Johnson(J&J) vaccines. The National Health Products Regulatory Authority said that the shipment might belong to the contaminated batch.

The statement was released shortly after the US and Canada rejected the vaccine.

Health Canada halts distribution of J&J vaccines

On Friday last week, Canada’s national health body, Health Canada, decided to halt the distribution of J&J vaccine shipment which arrived in April.

The health body was unable to determine the quality standards of the shipment, but the batch of vaccines was manufactured at that time when another batch was found to be contaminated. Therefore, the department decided to hold the distribution and conduct an onsite inspection of the Baltimore manufacturing unit.

FDA warns J&J to discard millions of vials

The same day, the U.S. The Food and Drug Administration(FDA) said that J&J must throw away millions of doses of its COVID-19 vaccine that were manufactured at the Baltimore facility. FDA found sanitary problems and bad manufacturing practices at the plant.
