Patan Durbar Square sees more tourists after COVID pandemic

Kathmandu, November 1. The arrival of foreign tourists has increased in the Patan Durbar Museum – a historical place enlisted as the World Heritage site. 

The Lalitpur metropolis-16 based museum was shut down with the heightened risk of coronavirus last year. 

Museum’s Acting Executive Director Sureshman Lakhe shared that the museum has been kept open for the general public since September 8 with the downfall of COVID-19 cases. 

“Arrival of foreign tourists has upped with the opening of the museum for general public and visitors after the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic”, he said. 

As many as 802 foreign tourists have visited the museum as of Sunday, he informed. 

The arrival of tourists from India, China, Israel, Australia, and Spain has increased in the historical museum area, it is informed.
