Nepal to provide “health insurance service” to families of emigrant workers

Kathmandu, January 22. On Friday, the Nepali Health Insurance Board announced that the government will soon include families of emigrant workers into health insurance policies,

Board’s spokesperson Shovit Rijal told reporters that the board has approved the procedure to introduce the “2078 edition of the health insurance policy”, under which the family members will be facilitated with insurance identity cards.

Rijal also confirmed that the provision would be launched after the approval by the Labour ministry. If the ministry approves, then the labourers who aspire to fly abroad will have to get insurance ID cards of his/her family members from the department of Foreign employment.
