Nepali Army a reliable land force: General Flynn
Kathmandu, June 13. Visiting Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific Command, Charles A. Flynn, has commended that Nepali Army (NA) is a reliable land force.
Flynn, who is currently in Nepal during his four-day official visit, remarked so following a tour of the Army Command and Staff College at Shivapuri in Kathmandu on Sunday.
He said the Nepali Army was one of the oldest armies in the world, according to the NA’s Directorate of Public Relations and Information. During his visit to the Staff College, he held meetings with the heads of various faculties in the College and interacted with the trainees as well.
Flynn also visited Birendra Peace Operations Training Centre at Paanchkhal in Kavrepalanchowk district on Sunday itself. His team received briefing on various activities of the Training Centre from the Head of the Centre.
Earlier, Flynn paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. He also held meeting with Chief of Army Staff Prabhu Ram Sharma. Flynn, who arrived Nepal on June 9, is leaving here for the USA tonight.
