Kathmandu, March 25. Following an exciting quarter-final match against the Tribhuvan Army Club, Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) has successfully secured a place in the semi-finals of the Birat Gold Cup football tournament.

The thrilling match, held at Shahid Rangshala on Friday, went into a penalty shoot-out after ending scoreless in the scheduled 90 minutes and the added 30 minutes of extra time. Both teams scored 5-5 in the tiebreaker, but TAC lost in sudden death when one of their players failed to score. 

The JYC is scheduled to play their first semi-final match against Biratnagar City on March 27. The tournament features eight teams from Nepal, India, and Bhutan. In today’s third quarter-final match, the Armed Police Force and Druk Lyul Football Club of Bhutan will face off against each other.
