Kathmandu, March 28. MG Motor has launched the latest model of its electric SUV, the MG ZS EV 2023 edition, in Nepal.

The new model features a 99 kW motor peak power and a 51 kWh battery that allows for a range of 320 km. However, the most significant difference in the latest model is its reduced price.

The Nepali government has imposed heavy taxes on electric vehicles with motors that have more than 100 kilowatts of power. The new 2023 edition has a 99 kW motor peak power, which falls below the tax threshold, resulting in a lower price.

The previous model of the ZS EV had a 110 kW motor, which made it subject to higher taxes, making it 3 million rupees pricier than the newly launched model.

The two variants of the electric car are now available for booking, with the MG ZS EV Comfort priced at Rs. 48,49,000/- and the MG ZS EV Deluxe priced at Rs. 52,49,000/-.
