Nepal secures easy win over Malaysia in opening match of ACC Men’s tournament

Kathmandu, April 18. Nepal has registered an easy win over Malaysia in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup one-day international cricket tournament.

Nepal defeated Malaysia by six wickets in the inaugural match held at Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

Malaysia elected to bat first after winning the toss. It managed to collect 235 runs losing 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Nepal met the 236-run target at the loss of 4 wickets in 36.2 overs. With this win, Nepal earned two points in the tournament.

Nepal is placed in Group A, along with Oman, Qatar, Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. In contrast, Group B consists of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hong Kong, Kuwait, Singapore, and Bahrain.

On Wednesday, the UAE will play against Kuwait at TU cricket ground, while Oman and Qatar will face each other at Mulpani cricket ground in two matches.
