Kathmandu, April 26. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has banned Flydubai’s Country Manager and Station Manager from entering Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) on the charge of spreading false information regarding a bird strike on one of its planes.

Assistant Spokesperson of CAAN, Gyanendra Bhul, stated that the two Flydubai officials Nepal Country Manager, Binod Abrahm, and Airport Manager, Nar Narayan Pakwan will not be permitted to enter the airport until a further notice.”The decision came after the airline’s official page claimed that the accident occurred due to a bird strike at TIA, without official confirmation from the authority,” Bhul said.

On Monday night, a Flydubai plane carrying 168 passengers had reportedly caught fire in its engine after an explosion, shortly after takeoff from TIA Kathmandu.
