NOC Lowers Petrol Price to 167.5 Rupees

Kathmandu, July 4. The Nepal Oil Corporation on Monday announced new retail prices for petroleum products.

According to the corporation, price reduction applies to diesel, petrol, kerosene, and aviation fuel, with the country’s territory divided into three categories for the purpose of adjustment.

While speaking about the price revision, NOC Spokesperson Manoj Thakur stated that in the first category, the price of diesel, petrol, and kerosene has been slashed by Rs 7.50. In the second category, the reduction is Rs 6, and in the third category, it is Rs 5. As per the latest rates, the price of petrol in the first category will be Rs 167.50 per litre, Rs 169 in the second category, and Rs 170 in the third category.

Previously, the nationwide price of petrol stood at Rs 175 per litre. For diesel and kerosene, the prices in the first category are Rs 147.50, in the second category Rs 149 per litre, and in the third category Rs 150 per litre. The NOC has categorized various cities and towns into these three categories. Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Amalekhgunj, Bhalbari, Nepalgunj, and Dhangadi fall under the first category, while Surkhet and Dang are placed in the second category. Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal are included in the third category.

Furthermore, the price of domestic aviation fuel has witnessed a reduction of Rs 14 per litre, whereas international aviation fuel has been reduced by 115 US dollars per kiloliter. However, it is important to note that the price of LP gas or cooking gas remains unchanged.
