Nepal Loses Thrilling ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier Final to Oman in Super Over

Kathmandu, Nov 6: In a thrilling final of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers in Kirtipur, Nepal faced off against Oman, with the match ending in a Super Over. Oman set a target of 22 runs in the Super Over, which Nepal attempted to chase down but could only manage 10 runs.

The regular 20-over match saw Nepal batting first and scoring 184 runs. In response, Oman also scored 184 runs, leading to the Super Over.

Kashyap Prajapati was the highest scorer for Oman with 63 runs, supported by Aqib Ilyas (33), Jeeson Maqsood (26), Mohammad Nadeem (24), and contributions from Ayaan Khan and Mehran Khan.

Nepal’s bowlers included Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC, who took 2 wickets each, while Sompal Kami, Gulshan Jha, Avinash Bohra, and Vivek Yadav took 1 wicket each.

In their innings, Nepal posted 184 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Gulshan Jha was the top scorer with 54 runs, and Captain Rohit Paudel remained unbeaten with 52 runs. Other notable contributors included Kushal Bhurtel (31), Karan KC (20), and Sandeep Zora (10).

Bilal Khan took the most wickets for Oman, securing 3 dismissals, while Aqib Ilyas and Jeeson Maqsood claimed 2 and 1 wicket, respectively.

While the match was a matter of prestige as both Nepal and Oman had already qualified for the World Cup, it ended in a dramatic Super Over victory for Oman.
