Narayan Gopal Memorial Award to Honor Tara Devi and Ganesh Rasik for Decades of Musical and Literary Excellence
Kathmandu, Dec 2: Narayan Gopal Music Trust is to honour Tara Devi known as Swor Kinnari and prolific writer and singer Ganesh Rasik with this year’s ‘Narayan Gopal Memorial Award’.
A meeting presided over chairperson of the Trust Usha Sherchan decided to honour Tara Devi posthumously for her contribution in music field for around five decades and Rasik for his dedication in the field of music and literature for around six decades.
Born on Magh 2, 2002 BS, singer and musician Tara Devi worked in Radio Nepal for around four decades. She died on Magh 9, 2062 BS. Tara Devi has recorded more than 3500 songs in her lifetime.
Similarly, Rasik is well-known person in Nepali art and literature. He has written many books.
The award would be presented on December 5, the occasion of 33rd Memorial Day of Swar samrat Narayan Gopal. The Trust was established in 2047 BS.
