Starmer focused on regaining Labour’s popularity, particularly in the Red Wall seats, which are constituencies in the North of England and the Midlands that traditionally supported Labour but were won by the Conservative Party in the 2019 election. He reconsidered the party’s policies, moving away from promises to abolish university tuition fees and nationalize water and electricity companies.
