Lawyer Arrested for Death Threats Against Shah Rukh Khan
Kathmandu, Nov 12: Mumbai Police have arrested Faizan Khan, a lawyer from Raipur, Chhattisgarh, for allegedly threatening to kill Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan.
According to officials, Faizan Khan made a threatening phone call to Mumbai’s Bandra police station on November 5, demanding ₹50 lakh and threatening harm to the actor. Following an investigation, police traced the SIM card used for the call to Faizan Khan.
A team of Mumbai Police traveled to Raipur for questioning, and Faizan was subsequently brought to Mumbai on November 11. However, Khan claimed that he had lost his phone on November 2 and had filed a complaint at Raipur police station regarding the matter.
In a related matter, Faizan Khan had recently filed a complaint with Jodhpur Police and Rajasthan Police regarding a scene from Shah Rukh Khan’s 1994 film *Anjaam*. Khan alleged that the scene, in which the actor’s character hunts a deer, disrespects the Bishnoi community, who consider deer sacred. He demanded a ban on the film, stating that it hurt religious sentiments and could lead to communal discord.
The police are continuing their investigation into the matter to verify Faizan Khan’s claims and determine his involvement in the threatening call.
