Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Claim at Least 19 Lives
Gaza, Jan 4: Rescuers reported that at least 19 people, including eight children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike on Gaza on Saturday.
Early Sunday, the Civil Defense confirmed 11 casualties in an airstrike that targeted the al-Ghol family home in Gaza City. Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal stated, “The attack destroyed the house completely and left many trapped under rubble.”
In Khan Yunis, five security personnel were killed in a separate Israeli airstrike. Local sources reported three additional fatalities, including a child, when a bomb struck a house.
The ongoing conflict began on October 7, 2023, following attacks by Hamas on Israel, which claimed 1,208 lives. Since then, retaliatory strikes by Israel have resulted in over 45,717 deaths in Gaza, predominantly civilians.
