Mahottari, March 6: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has emphasized the need for Nepal to adopt a path of self-reliance, stating that industrial development and job creation are key priorities.

Inaugurating Nepal Pulp and Paper Industries in Ramnagar, Gaushala Municipality-1, on Monday, Oli highlighted the importance of private sector involvement in economic growth. He urged state governments to promote youth-led initiatives, such as mango cultivation, to boost self-sufficiency.

The newly established paper industry, owned by IME Group, aims to produce paper domestically using recycled materials. It is expected to reduce paper imports, provide employment to around 300 people, and contribute to minimizing Nepal’s trade deficit.

Oli reaffirmed the government’s commitment to completing major infrastructure projects, including the Postal Highway and Sunkoshi Marin, while ruling out any return to monarchy. “The country will move forward with stability under the constitution,” he asserted.
