MS Dhoni Returns as CSK Captain After Ruturaj Gaikwad’s Injury Blow

Kathmandu, April 11: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have suffered a major setback in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season as captain Ruturaj Gaikwad has been ruled out of the tournament due to injury. In a dramatic turn, former captain and fan-favorite Mahendra Singh Dhoni will step back into the leadership role for the remainder of the season.
According to reports from ANI and PTI, Gaikwad sustained a serious injury to his wrist (referred to as “Kuhina”) and has been declared unavailable for the rest of the competition. CSK coach Stephen Fleming confirmed the development on Thursday, ending speculation about the team’s future leadership.
The decision to reinstate Dhoni comes at a critical time for Chennai, who have managed only one win in five matches and currently sit at ninth place among ten teams in the points table.
Dhoni’s return to captaincy has reignited hope among fans ahead of the team’s next clash – the 25th IPL match, scheduled against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday.
With CSK struggling for form and facing a tough road ahead, all eyes will be on Dhoni to turn the season around with his experience and leadership.
