Kathmandu, May 1: The month-long street protest by teachers has come to an end following a nine-point agreement with the government.

The decision to withdraw the agitation came after teachers’ representatives held talks with Education Minister Raghuji Pant on Wednesday. The government swiftly approved all three key consensus points in the Cabinet meeting.

Minister Pant confirmed that the protest has been officially called off after the Cabinet’s endorsement, and added that student enrollment will resume with the suspension of all protest programs.
