Kathmandu, June 1. As the chances of conducting physical examinations remain extremely low, the ministry for Education, Science, and Technology has decided to conduct the pending SEE examinations through internal assessments.
The decision was made during Monday’s meeting held between the Council of Ministers.
Last week, the ministry received a 13-point memorandum from All Nepal National Free Students Union, a sister organization to the Communist Party of Nepal. The document discussed the management of the education sector during the pandemic. Responding to the union’s letter, Education minister Krishna Gopal Shrestha said that the government was seeking new ways to conduct pending examinations.
Internal assessment is not a new approach. The same model was applied in the SEE examinations last year. However, many schools and students are still out of reach of the internet.
The ministry wants to introduce internet facilities in community schools all over the country.
