First ever blood bank built in Dhanagadi

US Department of Defense, Indo-Pacific Command and USAID established “Far West Blood Bank Center” in Kailali district.

Kathmandu, July 20. In Dhangadhi of Kailali district, the US Department of Defense (DoD) help built the first-ever blood bank in collaboration with the US Indo-Pacific Command and the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

Organizing a brief ceremony at Dhangadhi, the US officials  handed over the keys to the “Far West Blood Bank Center” to the representatives of the Nepal Government 

According to the official statement issued by the US embassy, the new Sudurpaschim Provincial Blood Transfusion Service Center would enable the Government of Nepal and the Nepal Red Cross Society to deliver much-needed services in the area

“Having timely access to blood supplies is vital to saving lives,” the embassy wrote on its official Facebook page.
