Kathmandu, December 12. The government of the United States have announced that 84 people are likely to have died after a slew of tornadoes ripped through several states on Friday night.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear told local reporters that the state saw “the most severe tornado event in Kentucky’s history”. Houses and trees were uprooted, electric poles cut by half with wires lying on the ground. ‘A candle factory in Mayfield was severely hit with 110 workers inside,’ Beshear noted.
Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker also announced that at least six people died at an Amazon warehouse building. Thousands of houses have been affected by a power outage.
Earlier on Friday, the National Weather Service had issued a warning claiming that massive thunderstorm systems tearing through states like Arkansas, Missouri, and Tennessee were threatening at least 25 million people.
