Kathmandu, December 15.  Reacting to the increasing violence against nurses, the Israeli Nurses Association (INA) has announced a 24-hour strike in all hospitals and clinics across the country.

Through an official statement on Wednesday, INA urged the government to immediately introduce a plan to eradicate violence against nurses.

The statement undersigned by Chair Ilana Cohen reads, “It is very sad that those who are on the medical front for everyone day and night, including the fight against the coronavirus, do not get the basic right to return home safely”.

Cohen explained, “The state abandons the nurses without any means of protection against the incessant violence in the health system … every incident of violence is like a terrorist attack and must be addressed accordingly.”

INA also declared that the nurses will keep on declaring more strikes if the government fails to take action against the national issue.
