Kathmandu, February 3.  Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, cautioned Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday that an invasion of Ukraine would be a tragic miscalculation.

During a phone call with Putin, Johnson said that he is deeply concerned about the one lakh soldiers who are currently marching on Ukraine’s border. He also said that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization(NATO) would arrange talks between Ukraine and Russia over the border standoff.

Earlier last week, the White House called the UN Security Council to hold an urgent discussion on the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Biden’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield said that Russia was posing a clear threat to international peace and security.

Media reports also claimed that during a telephone conversation with Ukraine’s president, US President Joe Biden warned that there is a “possibility” that Russia may strike Ukraine in February.
