Kathmandu, April 26. At least 227 Afghan citizens who had illegally entered Turkey in search of work, were flown back to Afghanistan on Sunday.
The Turkish government is currently dealing with irregular immigration. It has been tracking the illegal migrants and sending them back to their motherland.
The illegal migrants are kept in a camp for a short time and then sent back via chartered flights from the international airport in eastern Malatya.
According to local media estimates, Turkey has returned around 681 Afghan citizens since the start of chartered flights. The majority of the returnees confirmed that they crossed into Turkey after the Taliban took power in mid-August of last year.
