Thunderbolt kills 80 sheep in Jumla; 300 missing

Kathmandu, July 2. In the most recent lightning strike in Patarasi Rural Municipality of Jumla district, eighty sheep owned by five farmers were killed.

“About 300 sheep owned by local farmers went missing when the extremely big thunderbolt hit Bagjale Meadow,” Livestock technician Hari Kami told reporters.

He continued, “The sheep might have fled to the steep slope… It is almost impossible to launch a search in the sloppy areas”.

Dillichaur’s Police Post Chief, Badri Saud said that the killed sheep belonged to Jora Rokaya, Ram Bahadur Reule, Shankar Nepali, Dharma Reule, and Man Bahadur Rokaya.
