14 farmers injured in lightning strike in Kalika of Chitawan

Kathmandu, July 7. 14 people were injured when a lightning strike hit a farm in Kalika Municipality of Chitawan district on Wednesday.
The District Police Office told reporters that the injured individuals were working on the paddy field of Kamala BK.
“They were transplanting rice seedlings when a heavy rainfall began… as they rushed towards a nearby house, at around 6 pm, they were struck by a thunderbolt.”
Bharatpur Hospital confirmed that nine injured had basic treatment at the hospital and were able to return home in a few houses. “Five seriously injured patients are now out of danger and are still receiving treatment at the hospital.”
