Nepal and China has multifaceted relations: PM Deuba

Kathmandu, September 13. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba held a courtesy meeting with Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the People’s Republic of China, Li Zhanshu on Tuesday.

Prime Minister Deuba maintained that Nepal and China enjoy a multi-faceted relationship. Furthermore, he elaborated on Nepali foreign policy being based on ‘Panchasheel’ and that Nepal abides by the ‘One China Policy’. He assured Zhanshu that no activities against China would not take place in Nepal.

He further expressed Nepal is grateful for all the socio-economic support incoming from China.

Li responded by reminiscing six-decade old Nepal-China relations, along with meetings and agreements with BP Koirala. He further wished Nepal for Constitution Day on September 19, adding China was concerned and aware for Nepal’s sovereignty and intergrity.

Li is on a four-day visit to Nepal upon invitation of HoR Speaker Agni Sapkota.
