Festivals help deepen mutual affection: PM Deuba
Kathmandu, October 24. Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba said that Tihar is our special and unique festival being observed since centuries. Stating that this unique cultural festival had unravel the close relations among nature, human and animals and other living beings, PM Deuba said that the festival helped further deepen mutual affection between sisters and brothers.
The Head of the Government also expressed his best wishes for Tihar to be successful in increasing mutual love, cultural good will and brotherhood among the Nepalis and further strengthen national unity. Extending best wishes to all Nepalis at home and abroad on the occasion of Tihar festival, Nepal Sambat New Year 1143, Mha Puja and Kija Puja today, Deuba wished for good health, peace and prosperity to them.
In a message, the PM said, “The Deusi and Bhailo played during Tihar increases peace, goodwill, unity and the sentiments of brotherhood in our society. The act of illuminating our house and courtyard symbolically inspires us to move towards light from darkness.” He also wished that may Tihar inspire one and all to walk on the path of truth, justice, righteousness and moral conduct. The five-day festivity is a festival of light. Tihar celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters on the last day of the festival while crow, dog, cow and ox are also worshiped successively from the beginning of Tihar.
Similarly, the Newar community observes Mha Puja. PM Deuba has extended best wishes to all those who celebrate this festival and urged all to take necessary precautions against COVID-19 and dengue infection while celebrating the festivals. (RSS)
