Kathmandu, October 30. A woman in coma for seven months has given birth to a healthy baby girl in Delhi, India.
This is a case at AIIMS trauma centre in Delhi. The woman was admitted after she faced an accident with head injuries. She was 40 days pregnant at the time of accident. So far, she has went through four neurological surgeries.
She gave birth to the baby through normal route on October 22. While she is unconscious at present, Dr. Deepak Gupta, a Neurosurgeon, she has 10-15% chance of regaining consciousness.
Moreover, Dr. Gupta revealed he hadn’t witnessed such kind of cases before, adding that it is highly uncommon. He said it was the family’s decision to continue the pregnancy.
