India’s greater plan behind Vinay Mohan Kwatra’s special visit to Kathmandu
Kathmandu, February 13. While Nepal is preparing for its presidential elections, India is sending its foreign secretary Vinaymohan Kwatra on a special visit to Kathmandu.
According to the official announcement, a special delegation team of the Indian Foreign Ministry will arrive in Kathmandu on Monday. Officials, including the head of the Indian Ministry’s desk for Nepal and Bhutan, will be a part of the delegation led by Kwatra.
In order to formally welcome Kwatra, an invitation was reportedly set up by Bharatraj Poudel, secretary of the Nepali Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Our special sources claim that Kwatra is on a political mission planned by Indian PM Narendra Modi. “Kwatra would pay a courtesy call to Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s office and personally extend Modi’s invitation for a visit to New Delhi. Poudel’s invitation to Kwatra was also part of Modi’s larger agenda,” our source claimed.
Greater Plan – Prachanda and Oli
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ was appointed as Nepal’s new prime minister on December 26, 2022. As he was sworn into his new office, he received expressions of congratulations from countries all over the world. He did not, however, receive any calls from Neighbouring Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
India has never forgotten to express its congratulations on Nepal’s new prime minister’s appointment. Even during the panchayat era, Nepali Prime Ministers received regular phone calls from Indian Prime Ministers. Prachanda’s appointment in 2022 is the only time Nepal did not receive a phone call from the Indian Prime Minister.
“Prachanda’s appointment was only made possible by CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli’s last-minute support. The Indian government was disappointed by Oli’s choice to back Prachanda. As a result, instead of calling PM Prachanda, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi chose Twitter to post a message of congratulations,” our high-level source said.
“Now, India is attempting to show special respect to Prachanda,” our source further explained that sending a high-level diplomat to personally invite PM Prachanda is “a part of Modi’s larger plan to divide the Oli-Prachanda pair and implant Indian motives in the Presidential election.”
