Police arrests three men accused of attempted rape in Saptari

Saptari. Nepal Police has detained three suspects in an attempted rape case involving a 21-year old girl that happened four years ago.
The victim had lodged a complaint at the police post against the accused who tried to rape her on April 30, 2016. However, when the police failed to take action, the victim had filed a case of ‘’Intention to Rape’’ in the district court ten days later on May 10, 2016.
Pawan Pandit Kumhar, 32, Khushi Lal Yadav, 58, and Bindeshwor Sharma, 73, of Dakneshwari Municipality-5 have been handed over to the Saptari District Court today.
On September 12, 2016, Judge of Saptari District Court, Binod Kumar Gautam, had sentenced the accused to ten days in jail and a fine of Rs. 500 but the suspects had escaped the trial.
