Pokhara Airport begins operating night flights from Thursday; Buddha Air prepares to launch night flights between Pokhara and Kathmandu
Kathmandu, February 23. The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has announced that the newly built international airport in Pokhara will begin operating night flights from Thursday evening.
Authority Spokesperson Jagannath Niraula told reporters that the airport will provide Instrument flight rules (IFR) service to the flights during night.
The flights will use instrument landing system (ILS) to land during the dark.
“With the new system, the airport will operate 18 hours in a day: from 6:00 am till midnight,” Niraula added.
CAAN also confirmed that the private airliner Buddha Air is preparing to launch Pokhara-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Pokhara night flights from today.
The newly built Pokhara Regional International Airport is the third largest international airport in Nepal. It was inaugurated on January 1, 2023.
