Kathmandu, March 20. The newly elected vice president of Nepal, Ram Sahaya Prasad Yadav has assumed his new office after taking an oath of office and secrecy at the Presidential house “Sheetal Niwas”.
“The vice president formally took charge of office from today. To mark the occasion, he planted a tree sapling on the premises of his new office green house at Lainchaur,” Information Officer Prabin Poudel told reporters.
In the vice presidential election held three days ago in Kathmandu, Yadav received 30,328 votes and defeated Ashtalakshmi Shakya of the KP Oli-led CPN-UML party and Mamta Jha of CK Raut’s Janamat Party.
