Birgunj takes action against late-coming teachers: 24 face inquiry
Kathmandu, May 22. The Metropolitan Authority of Birgunj announced on Sunday that it has ordered clarification notes from 24 teachers for their failure to arrive at school on time.
During a surprise inspection visit by the Mayor Rajeshman Singh, it was discovered that the teachers and principal of Shree Nepal Rastriya Vidyapeeth Secondary School were absent.
“Many teachers were physically present, they had not officially registered their attendance,” Chief of the Department of Education in the Metropolis, Arbindlal Karna, told reporters.
Mayor Singh assured the public, “We are working on addressing the shortage of teachers in public schools. Our priority is to provide uninterrupted teaching-learning activities and ensure a quality education for our students.”
Surprise visits were performed at Narsingh Secondary School in ward no. 14 and Shree Tri Judda Mahabir Prasad Raghubir Ram Higher Secondary School in ward no. 4.
