North Korean Ambassador Jo Yong Man Pays Courtesy Visit to MP Ek Nath Dhakal

Kathmandu, June 30. Jo Yong Man, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) Ambassador to Nepal, has paid a courtesy visit to MP Ek Nath Dhakal, member of the International Relations and Tourism Committee of Nepali parliament.

The meeting took place on Friday, with the aim of exploring and enhancing relations between the two friendly nations. During their meeting, Ambassador Jo Yong Man and MP Dhakal expressed their pleasure at reuniting and rekindling their longstanding friendship. The discussions primarily focused on ways to improve the relationship between the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Nepal.

MP Dhakal emphasized the friendly relations between Nepal and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). Dhakal’s Secretariat issued a statement which said, “Nepal has a longstanding supportive position for the peaceful reunification of Korea as per the will of the Korean people.” The statement also highlighted Nepal’s earnest wish to see peace, unity, and stability in the Korean Peninsula. 

Dhakal’s secretariat also confirmed that both parties recognized the significance of parliamentary exchanges and agreed on the need for vibrant interactions between the legislators of Nepal and DPRK. The diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on May 15, 1974, and have since been observed with mutual warmth and goodwill.
