eSewa receives ISO 27001: 2013 accredited certificate
Kathmandu.
eSewa, Nepal’s first online payment service provider, which has been providing mobile and internet payment services for more than a decade, has received the ISO 27001: 2013 certification. It has proven that its services and the technical infrastructure it utilizes are of good quality, secure and world-class.
Launching the digital payment system in Nepal, the beta version of eSewa was released in 2009 and the service was launched on January 25, 2010. Currently, the number of account openers is more than 3.5 million.
ISO 27001: 2013 (current edition) is considered to be one of the most important information security standards in the world. It is known to be the key to measuring the robustness of a company’s information security management.
After being certified by ISO, Chief Executive Officer of eSewa, Subhas Sapkota said, “We have been giving high priority to information systems, privacy and security since our inception.
