Tragedy Strikes as 13 Students Perish in Boarding School Dormitory Fire in China

Beijing, Jan 20: A devastating fire in a boarding school dormitory in central China has claimed the lives of thirteen students. The incident occurred at Yingkai School in Yanshanpu Village, Henan Province, where one student sustained injuries. Reports indicate that the injured student is a third-grade primary school student, aged nine or ten.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and the school’s head has been detained. China National Radio reported that some windows in the dormitory building were broken, and police have released images of the surrounding area. The tragic incident unfolded in Yansapu village on the outskirts of Nanyang, a city with a population of approximately 10 million.
