Pyuthan Gears Up for Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccination Campaign
Swargadwari, Feb 5: In an effort to bolster the fight against the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Swargadwari in Pyuthan is set to launch a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination campaign from January 24 to 28. The initiative aims to vaccinate individuals aged 12 and above, focusing on those who have not yet received their first dose, excluding those who have already received additional booster shots.
Madhusudan Khadka, Acting Head of the District Health Office, shared that various vaccination centers across the district will administer the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine during the campaign. The target is to cover 41,070 people throughout the district.
As of January 15, 2077, the District Health Office reported that 277,930 individuals in the district have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 195,187 have received the second dose. Additionally, 16,443 have received the first booster, and 30,420 individuals have received additional booster doses.
The vaccination campaign will give priority to key frontline workers, including teachers, health professionals, security personnel, and individuals with chronic illnesses or the elderly working at the civilian level. Kaushalraj Vaidya, Vaccination Focal Person of the Health Office, emphasized that vaccination centers, designated schools, and all health institutions will actively participate throughout the campaign’s duration.
This concerted effort aims to enhance community immunity and mitigate the impact of the pandemic, underscoring the importance of widespread vaccination to protect public health. The residents of Swargadwari and surrounding areas are encouraged to participate in the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccination campaign for their safety and the well-being of the community.
