124,098 Nepalis infected with coronavirus, 794 dead and 98,656 recovered
Kathmandu. The total tally of corona virus infected Nepalis has reached 124,000 world over. Dr Sajneev Sapkota, coordinator of Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Health Committee, informed that till Saturday evening 1,24,098 Nepalis have tested positive for coronavirus in different parts of the world, including Nepal.
Dr Sapkota said that 39,528 Nepalis in 42 different countries have contracted COVID-19 besides Nepal out of which 35,926 have recovered from the disease.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Health and Population has informed that 84, 570 have been infected with COVID-19 in Nepal till Saturday. 62,740 of the infected have recovered till date. The recovery rate from the virus is 72.2 percent in Nepal.
According to Dr Sapkota, 98,656 of the total infected Nepalis have recovered. The average recovery rate of corona-infected Nepalis abroad is 92 percent.
NRNA Health Committe states that 266 Nepalis have died in foreign land. Nepalis have died in Great Britain, USA, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwwait, Qatar, Ireland, japan, Turkey, Netherland, Sweden and South Africa. During the period, 528 Nepalis have died in Nepal alone.
